Who does something like this? Not the average person who's getting fit and trying to simplify their lives! Sometimes I get an idea and go to the extreme with it. I've always picked up vintage candy and nut jars, I can find them for .25-$1 when I'm junking. So, this is actually a reflection of the craziness. Yes, it's true. The more anxiety/drama/trauma that I have going on...the more I escape through decorating or attempting to have my environment "perfect". Ha! Not so perfect for my weight loss. But, it sure is pretty!
Has anyone tried Hershey's Mint Truffle Kisses or the Cherry Cordial Kiss? They're really good.
I love the old jars.
The old canning jars with zinc lids are just as pretty to me.
I have noticed something unexpected though. With so many choices of sweets, I notice that I'm barely indulging, thank goodness.
Oooooo - - - I see some yummy gummy things in there!!!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a wonderful idea. They look so festive, inviting, delicious. Maybe next year..... :)

Your jars look so pretty filled up with all of those goodies! I have a hard time passing up pretty jars. I recently got one like that pointy one that you have, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you are able to not indulge in all that yummyness because there is a lid on each jar. I know that might sound crazy, but it's alot easier to grab a piece of candy if it's sitting in a bowl, than it is to get one out of a jar! I wish you much luck with your weight loss. I need to lose weight, but my head just isn't in the right place to do it at this moment!
Have a great week!
Carol
Gorgeous and yummy!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty! I think I would be in real trouble with all those choices.

That is a really pretty gathering together ... I'd have a lot of emptiness sitting there. Chuckle!

ReplyDeleteWhat a Great Idea!
the cherry cordial kisses are great. just tried on yesterday. love all the candy jars...reminds me of going to the corner store growing up...all the colors were magical to us kids.
ReplyDeleteHi...I just came from G-man's comments and saw all these goodies. I too have a collection of apothecary jars, but mine's filled with sea shells. YOURS is MUCH better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty display! It looks like a candy store! You have great will power to be able to resisit! Happy weekend...Debbie
ReplyDeletePS...Thanks for your potpourri recipe! I had not thought about whole nutmeg!
Unless those lids are super-glued on, the candy in those jars would have limited life expectancy at my house—especially anything chocolate. You know what they say. There are two main food groups: fruit and chocolate. And if it’s fruit, it should be dipped in chocolate. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and yummy! What a great way to display them; I don't think you'd get the same impact if they were empty.
ReplyDeleteAnd Cherry Cordial Kisses? Delish!
I fill up cookie tins with stuff at Christmas, and then I get these evening attacks when I have to go munching through them. Thanks for your comment on my blog today, about my daughter's desk. It was interesting. Loved looking at your candy.
ReplyDeleteHello! Merry Christmas! Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate your input on the column! I have no idea what to do with it right now! I would love to leave it as is but it's a little scuffed up! Love the candies! Yes, hard to work out but I'm determined to get it done! Have a very blessed holiday season! Luanne
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheery impact. Love the idea-looks like a candy store. My very favorite Christmas candy is in the second picture down on the left. The chewy mints with the Christmas tree in the middle. My husband always buys me a bag as soon as the Christmas candy hits the stores. They are sometimes hard to find around here.
ReplyDeleteYou could open one of those old-fashioned sweet shops. Although, that would mean emptying those jars again and it looks so lovely the way it is...
ReplyDeleteI have so many candy jars/containers I have gotten as gifts, and I never use them! We are sugarphobes at my house...LOL. Now you have given me an idea for a good gift AND a chance to get rid of some of those jars;)
ReplyDeleteI do and so did my mom on a grand scale. I love this post you have just written, so many good family memories. Thanks for swimming by and I hope to hear from you again. Blessings and a wonderful Christmas to you. Sea Witch
